Analysis
TISS NET 2015-2017 was successfully conducted on January 10, 2015. This test was conducted in the computer based format and it was reported that the questions varied for different candidates. The overall difficulty of the test increased in comparison to the last year's test. The test comprised 95 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. Five questions (in the English Proficiency section) were of 2 marks each, while the remaining 90 carried a mark each. There was no negative marking in the test and most of the questions were of easy-moderate level of difficulty. Like last year, the section on General Awareness was difficult due to the preponderance of Static GK. The section-wise analysis of the test is as follows:

General Awareness
The toughest of the three, this section can be the decider for many. There were 30 questions in this section and just like last year, this section saw 22-23 questions on Static GK. The remaining 7-8 questions were based on current GK. The current affairs questions were of an easy-moderate level of difficulty, whereas the static questions were moderate-difficult. A good score in this section could be 14-16.

Mathematics and Logical Reasoning
This section had 35 questions in total and can be called fairly easy.

Strategy

The selection of candidates for different programmes is a two stage process and has three components of assessment. All candidates appear for the entrance test (TISSNET). Based on the performance in the TISSNET examination, only short listed candidates are called for the Pre Interview Test and Personal Interview (PIT/PI). The written test is of 100 marks, the pre-interview test of 50 marks and the interview is allotted another 75 marks. A merit list, for admissions, is generated based upon the aggregate of the above three scores. General Awareness has a huge weightage in every TISSNET exam. Thus, students should prepare well for the same through the GK app and GK Compendium of CL. The strategy should be to attempt all questions since there is no negative marking. 80% of the questions should be attempted seriously with 90% accuracy. The rest could be guesses based upon the time at hand.
