SNAP 2020 (Symbiosis National Aptitude Paper) is a national level MBA Entrance test. It is the path for admission to some of the top MBA colleges in the country. SNAP 2020 will be conducted for admission into the upcoming batch of MBA (2021 - 2023). SNAP is conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed) University. The exam is conducted once every year. This year's SNAP exam is expected to be held on 13th December 2020. The SNAP 2020 registration process will start in mid August. A brief overview of SNAP 2020

  1. SNAP exam is administered by Symbiosis International (Deemed) University
  2. SNAP is conducted once every year, in a single slot, across multiple centers
  3. It is a computer based test
  4. The total test duration of SNAP exam is 120 minutes
  5. The SNAP paper consists of three sections, viz General English, Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, Analytical and Logical Reasoning
  6. The SNAP paper encompasses both MCQ and Non MCQ (special) type questions.
  7. For SNAP 2020, there will be a total of 110 questions in the paper.
  8. There are 105 MCQ type questions and 5 Non MCQ type questions in the paper.
  9. The MCQ type question have differential marking across sections  
  10. The Non MCQ type questions carry two marks each
  11. Each incorrect attempt incurs a penalty of 25% of the marks allotted to the question 
  12. There is no individual time limit for each section
  13. Movement across sections is allowed

SNAP 2020 Exam Pattern

SNAP exam is an online test which comprises 3 sections -  General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability; Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency; Analytical and Logical Reasoning. The overall test duration is 120 minutes.

There is no sectional time limit in the paper and movement across sections is permitted. Students can choose the order in which they wish to attempt the paper. The SNAP exam has both MCQ and Non MCQ (Special) type questions in the paper.

There will be a total of 110 questions in SNAP 2020 paper out of which 105 questions will be MCQ type questions and the remaining 5 will be Non MCQ type questions. The MCQ type questions will contain differential marking across sections and each Non MCQ type question will carry two marks. There is a negative marking of 1/4th of the allotted marks for every incorrect attempt.

The SNAP Exam Pattern underwent a change in 2018 with the introduction of Non MCQ (special) type questions. In 2019 again there was a slight change in the paper pattern with respect to the marking scheme and break up of questions. Take a look.

SNAP 2020 Eligibility Criteria

  1. Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate of:

50% - Gen
45% - SC/ST

  1. Students in their final year can also apply but their admission is subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates)
  2. A candidate having completed his qualifying degree from a foreign university is required to submit an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities to be eligible

SNAP 2020 Registration Process

The SNAP 2020 registration process will commence from mid August 2020. The exam will be held on 13th December 2020 in one slot from 2 to 4 pm across multiple centers (tentative).

SNAP 2020 Syllabus

According to the analysis of the last 2 years, the most dominant topics in each SNAP Section is as follows:

Section 1: General English

This section will contain a total of 34 questions. All questions will be MCQ type questions. No Non MCQ type questions will be asked in this section. Each question will carry 1.5 marks. A student can score maximum 51 marks in this section.

Reading Comprehension

  1. The passages in SNAP are not very lengthy
  2. The passages can appear from any of the popular genres like literature, science and technology, philosophy,etc.
  3. The level of difficulty of questions is mostly easy-moderate
  4. Majority of the questions asked are fact based questions

Verbal Ability

  1. Fill in the Blanks
  2. Synonyms & Antonyms
  3. Vocabulary
  4. Proverbs & Idioms
  5. Sentence Correction
  6. Critical Reasoning
  7. Analogy

Section 2: Analytical & Logical Reasoning

This section contains a total of 36 questions. All questions will be MCQ type questions. No Non MCQ type questions will be asked in this section. Each question will carry 1.5 marks. A student can score maximum 54 marks in this section.
